In March 2022 a large hundred-year-old stormwater pipe had collapsed underneath private property in Karori. Land Matters was engaged by Wellington Water to restore the underground assets from optioneering designs, arranging access with landowners, construction and contractor management to practical completion.
The project involved proposing solutions through design, project management, contractor engagement and structural reinstatement. It was a high-risk project as it involved six different landowners, each holding concerns for their individual property. The work was challenging as it involved deep trenching close to houses, working within a congested Wellington suburb, managing public money, addressing after-hours calls to ensure the well-being of local residents. Landmatters delivered on all outcomes through commitment to the client deliverables.
